(I had started writing a new collection of poetry in 2020, just before COVID hit, to have been titled: "Moving On." I never finished it, and no longer have the desire to. Still, I wrote these and there's no reason not to share them.)

Laying here between sheets of butter

In the bed we bought for two,

Our home just doesn't feel like home

Without you.

It's been barely a week

And I've barely slept.

The slightest noise makes me stir

I miss you.

But don't hurry back, my love.

Enjoy your trip,

Think of me while you're gone,

Because I miss you,

And I like it this way.

"Good morning, Vietnam!"

Some of you can probably hear Robin Williams saying those words, and remember the emotions that came along with watching that movie...
