(I had started writing a new collection of poetry in 2020, just before COVID hit, to have been titled: "Moving On." I never finished it, and no longer have the desire to. Still, I wrote these and there's no reason not to share them.)

We met a year and a half ago now,

And it's appalling how far we've come.

We started out nervous,

Apprehensive, cautious.

Daring? Hopeful?

One miracle moment after another,

Until finally,

We answered each other's questions

Before they were asked.

It's so hard to believe

Moving on was so easy.

I never could have succeeded at it

If I hadn't met you.

"Good morning, Vietnam!"

Some of you can probably hear Robin Williams saying those words, and remember the emotions that came along with watching that movie...
