Boundaries

(I had started writing a new collection of poetry in 2020, just before COVID hit, to have been titled: "Moving On." I never finished it, and no longer have the desire to. Still, I wrote these and there's no reason not to share them.)
We started out talking
Until the wee hours of the morning,
Until we had to set a boundary...
Which we both proceeded to break.
You've let me past so many boundaries,
I don't think I'll ever stop being in awe.
No one has ever been this close to you
For so long.
20 months together,
And I could still happily fall asleep
Listening to the sound of your voice.
